If you’ve been into a bar serving cocktails in the past decade, you will likely have encountered the iconic Pornstar Martini. Provocative in name, eye-catching in nature, and decadent in flavour, this cocktail is designed to delight and enthral. This tasty tipple was the most ordered cocktail at Cove over the past year, so it proudly sits at the top of our drinks list.

The Story

This fruity little number was created by Douglas Ankrah, a mixologist at the centre of London’s trendiest bar scene. The idea came after a visit to the Maverick’s Gentleman Club in Cape Town. He believed that bars should be bold, playful and sexy, and his brand new cocktail was a demonstration of those elements. Originally called the Maverick Martini, the name was changed when he returned to London with his successful new tipple and explained to eager onlookers that he thought it felt like something pornstars would drink.

Make Your Own

– 25ml vanilla vodka

– 25ml Passoã

– 25ml passion fruit purée

– 25ml apple juice

– 2tsp vanilla sugar

– 35ml champagne (or prosecco)

– Half a passionfruit shell

Pour the vodka, passoa, passionfruit purée, apple juice and vanilla sugar into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously on ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the passionfruit shell. Serve with a shot of champagne and enjoy!
